In vitro, Osteoblasts do attach and spread over a globin substrate - Sautier J.M. personal communication. These studies of the interaction between globin particles and osteoblasts are being published in the thesis of Dr Hamdan A. 2008 in the laboratory of Pr Sautier. Fibroblasts, Chondrocytes or Stem Cells may also be added to these globin formulations for new developments in tissue engineering. The insoluble particles of globin which are positively charged do attach the negatively charged cells and facilitate their migration and multiplication, within an environment which may be enriched in soluble and concentrated plasma proteins acting as an optimal cell culture medium.
